Bridget Stuart
has discovered that by channeling her spirit of mischief and her odd
sense of humor into what she writes, she can save herself (and everyone
around her) a whole lot of trouble.
Bridget first started reading humorous, subversive romance at thirteen,
when her best friends at the time—twin sisters who got into even more
trouble
than she did—introduced
her to Georgette Heyer. She and the twins then went on to read The
Flame and the Flower, but as a comedic exercise, marking up each
page with scathing commentary on the witless, gutless heroine, and counting
the number of times the violent, borderline personality-disordered hero
said prissy French things like "ma petite".
So it makes sense that now she writes irreverent women's fiction with
a twist of dark humor like How to Kill the Other Woman and
Trash or Treasure, which were both nominated for the Romance Writers
of America's Golden Heart award. Her most recent Lady Lit, Going
Downhill Fast, is a finalist in the Chick Lit Writers of the World's
'Stiletto' Contest. But with a supportive, caring sisterhood like the
Wet Noodle Posse in her life, who needs any more strokes?
