Debra Holland received a
master’s degree in Marriage, Family, and Child Therapy and Ph.D. in
Counseling Psychology from the
University
of Southern California,
and is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist.
She’s worked twenty years counseling with individuals,
couples, and groups. She
specializes in communication and relationship issues.
Debra’s first
historical romance, Wild
Montana Sky, won the 2001 Romance Writers of
America’s Golden Heart award.
Wild Montana Sky was 2007
third place (overall) finalist in the Orange Rose contest. Her next
book in this series, Starry
Montana Sky was a 2004 Orange Rose second place (overall)
finalist.
Her fantasy
romance, Withea’s Way (retitled
Sower of Dreams) was a
2003 Golden Heart finalist.
Sower of Dreams also took second place in the general paranormal
category of the Futuristic, Fantasy, & Paranormal (RWA chapter)
contest. Her science
fiction/ fantasy, Lywin’s
Quest, was a 2005 GH finalist.
Debra adapted
Wild Montana Sky into a
screenplay, which was a semi-finalist in the Kairos Prize
Competition for spiritually uplifting screenplays in 2006 and in
2007. Wild Montana Sky
also won the RWA Scriptscene chapter’s Share the Dream contest.
Debra has written a nonfiction book, Rules of Engagement: How to Have a Boundary Setting Conversation With a Difficult Person, which her agent is currently submitting to publishers. Her booklet, 54 Tips for Dealing With a Difficult Person can be purchased on her website,
