Priscilla Kissinger fell in love with the romance genre at an early age, cutting her teeth on Judy Blume, then Judith Holt novels.  As a high school student she was introduced to her first Harlequin romance while staying in a hurricane shelter in Key West with her family, waiting through the worst of the storm for several days. With two parents who modeled both a love for each other and a love for the written word, it was only natural for Priscilla to gravitate towards the genre that celebrates both.

After high school, she moved on to college where she graduated magna cum laude with a degree in English, intent on teaching high school while working on her writing.  Marriage to a hunky Air Force flyer and the birth of her three beautiful daughters changed her plans.  Soon she was traveling the world, from Okinawa, Japan, to Charleston, South Carolina, and home schooling her girls while trying to carve time out for writing.  She credits RWA and the supportive chapters she belongs to for helping her stay focused.

Now that her girls are older and back in public school, her daily schedule finds a mix of writing, volunteering at school, trying to keep up with housework, playing tennis, and taking part in community theater.  Not quite the glamorous life of the romance author portrayed on film, but a life filled with family, love and laughter. Okay, there’s also a little bit of stress, but what else would you expect in a household with three growing girls?  Priscilla attributes the extra pounds she’s constantly battling to the chocolate she is forced to eat to stay sane.

A 2003 Golden Heart finalist and winner of the Jasmine, Merritt, and Golden Pen contests, she’s currently at work on her latest novel, targeted for Silhouette Special Edition.  With two manuscripts under consideration by Silhouette, she’s hoping for good news soon and appreciates any positive vibes you care to send her way.
